We Organized our End-of-Year PYP Exhibition Online
We Organized our End-of-Year PYP Exhibition Online
Our students, who made preparations in 6 groups throughout the year, exhibited their PYP works in the live broadcast organized with the participation of our parents.
PYP exhibitions pave the way for students to express their ideas, make choices freely and internalize that the essence of their learning is their self. Our students developed the sense of student agency during the period exhibition period and turned the relationship between them and their teacher into a cooperation.
Learners lie at the hearth of NUN Schools’ learning and teaching approaches. Children wonder, question and theorize themselves, others and the world around them with the spirit of discovery. They develop complex, multi-layered perceptions and insights through their experiences and interactions.
PYP students are exposed to compulsory experiences with regard to taking initiative. They direct their learning with a strong sense of identity and self-belief, but also through collaborations, which allows them to develop awareness about the ideas, values and needs of others.
In this sense, our students, who prepared for the exhibition throughout the whole year, organized the end-of-year PYP exhibitions online this year due to the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic. Our students worked in 6 different groups under the supervision of our teachers. Our first group investigated how the rules of etiquette and kindness affect human relations under the supervision of our teacher, Selçuk Yılmaz. The group of our Ali Alijawad, carried out an important social responsibility project in English with their project titled “Using animals in scientific researches is against our values and beliefs”. Our third group, which defended the idea that the minimalist lifestyle reduces the negative aspects of modern life, carried out its activities with the support of our teacher, Büşra Kapoğlu. Our fourth group worked under the guidance of our teacher, Hülya Özcan to demonstrate the importance of healthy nutrition against obesity, one of the biggest problems of our time. Our fifth group worked on its project under the supervision of our teacher, Fatma Bakırhan and drew attention to the impacts of methods used in plant and animal production to nature and living things. Our students in the sixth group, arguing that the knowledge of history plays a significant role in the development of societies, demonstrated the importance of correct historical information with the support of our teacher, Sibel Kılınç.
Our online PYP Exhibition, which was organized with high participation of our distinguished parents, ended with beautiful stories told by Meddah Yusuf Duru
