INTERNATIONAL PARENT MEETING EVENT
A Parent Meeting Event was held with the parents of our international students. At the beginning of our program, a potluck event was held where our parents brought delicacies from their countries. Parents tasted the dishes of different cultures and had a pleasant evening chatting with each other.
Our PCG Consultant Zehra İlgen Şeker made a presentation on Building Strong Families. In her presentation, İlgen talked about the difficulties of living abroad and the characteristics gained by coping with these difficulties, and drew attention to the criteria taken into account when making the decision to move to another country. Furthermore, she referred to the benefits of living abroad. İlgen talked about what needs to be done in negative situations, that people can start solving problems by positive thoughts, and that these can affect the mind and body in a positive way. She mentioned that when the conditions get tough, focusing on what one can improve rather than being critical to oneself and self-criticizing with compassion will lead to healthier results.
Parents listened to the presentation with great interest.
