To Kill a Mockingbird Show

Harper Lee's classic novel, “Killing a Mockingbird,” themes the oppression on innocent and powerless people. Killing a mockingbird, an animal whose only duty is to add joy to the world by its music is attributed as one of the greatest sins on earth. Our 10th graders presented their interpretation of the book on stage. Their interpretation focused on the theme: "History repeats itself unless we learn from it." by treating it to the current situation in Palestine by adapting the mockingbirds as the Palestinian Children.
Working on this act not only strengthened our students' literary and historical knowledge but also improved their empathy, critical thinking, and social sensitivity. With this experience, our students realized how important it is to express social issues and contribute to the search for solutions by using the power of art and literature.
