Dream of Water: Marbling Art
Dream of Water: Marbling Art
The guest of the Middle School NUN Meetings was the artist Hikmet Barutçugil, who opened new horizons by combining his artistic background in academic education regarding traditional arts.
Drawing attention to the pursuit of divine beauty in the essence of Islamic arts, he said that people who deal with art do not think of much about the world, hence art is a way of purification. Stating that the works somehow carry energies, Barutçugil emphasized that the inner world of man is also revealed in his work. The program continued with questions of our students. Hikmet Barutçugil stated that the art of marbling is actually images from nature and the meaning of art for him is to approach God in search of beauty.
