Santralistanbul Energy Museum Trip

A trip to Santralistanbul Energy Museum was organized in order to enable our students to better understand the central topic "Energy is produced, transformed and used in various ways", which is the main idea of the How the World Works unit. Our students went on a historical journey by visiting the first energy thermal power plant built during the Ottoman era. They had the chance to observe the historical buildings and developments in energy production up close, within the historical atmosphere of the building.
Listening to the information provided by the museum guides carefully, our students had the opportunity to understand the subject better by trying some application examples related to energy. They had the chance to learn concepts such as electricity generation and energy conversion in a lively and interactive way.
This trip enabled our students to reinforce the information they learned about energy with a hands-on experience. At the same time, the trip boosted their curiosity for learning about the topic more by being in an environment where technology and history are intertwined.
