“We Should Touch the Hearts of Students”
“We Should Touch the Hearts of Students”
Ms. Esra Albayrak, Chairwoman of the Board of NUN Education and Culture Foundation, came together with NUN Schools teachers and administrative staff at "NUN Vision Meetings".
Ms. Albayrak started her speech touching upon the place of foundation culture in our civilization and said, “Foundation is a source of continuous charity. We believe that, even hundreds of years later, young people who are raised by this foundation will strive for the benefit of our country and the nation.” Underlining that teachers and other employees should not forget that they work for a foundation, Ms. Albayrak recommended, “Your criticisms for one another will reveal the truths that will lead us to the best results. So, let us maintain the collective mind. ”
NUN Schools Founder Representative Mr. Fatih Nida Üye took the floor and said, “Empathizing with our students will not only facilitate our jobs, but also have a positive impact on our children's academic and social lives. With the advancement of technology in the 21st century, our students now want to be understood more than in the past. Therefore, we should always be with them as much as we can and touch their hearts. ”
After Mr. Üye’s speech, Ms. Albayrak added, “The Education system has been built on a competitive manner under the influence of capitalism. Unfortunately, this has been a setback for moral development of generations. This lead to occurrence of individuals who do take on conscientious responsibility, nor accept their mistakes. Unfortunately, educators are in a big dilemma for this reason. We should not forget that students who grew up in schools of this capitalist system grew old to discover the atomic bomb. So are we going to use the power of knowledge for the benefit of humanity or to exhibit hostility? At this point, it is the duty of educators to know their students and be sincere to them.”
NUN Schools Board Member Mr. Tamer Yılmaz underlined that NUN teachers should pay attention to be as much student oriented as possible. He added, “As an institution with traditions, we should never give up on being innovative as well. It is very important that our teachers act proactively. We should always keep in mind to be a step ahead. ”
Saying that a NUN teacher should be an educational leader, Ms. Albayrak recommended teachers to go through their mistakes every day.
