Our students Visited Qatar
Our students Visited Qatar.
We had a trip to Qatar with the participation of our students between 21-28 April.
During our visit, our students had an opportunity to see an Arabic country and its culture and practice Arabic language. During the six-day trip program, organized in cooperation with the Qatari Ministry of Culture, we visited ACS International School, an IB school, and the Qatar Foundation - Education City district, which has 9 universities and 11 schools in its borders, as well as various cultural and historical places. Furthermore, on the last day of our trip our students joined activities of a volunteering organization. In this sense, our students went to one of the largest agricultural fields in Qatar to participate in competitions of cucumber and eggplant picking and preparing the most beautiful flower.
After preparing beautiful bouquets, they visited the patients at a dialysis centre and gave patients their flowers. At the end of the day, they went to a shopping centre to buy the items in their list to compete with each other to prepare a food packet to be distributed to the people in need on the occasion of the holy Ramadan month. The students were assigned certain tasks during and after the trip. They learned 15 new words everyday, wrote them to their vocabulary notebook, and kept daily journal of at least 30 words in Arabic. After the trip, Qatar photograph competition and exhibition was held. Each student participated in the exhibition with a photo s/he took in Qatar and explained its importance to our guests in Arabic language. Additionally, the photo of the winner of Qatar photograph competition was exhibited at the exhibition.
