On Palestine with Merve Gülcemal Interview
Within the scope of the 7th grade MYP Community Project, we welcomed author, activist, and Palestine volunteer Merve Gülcemal to our school under the leadership of our project coordinators. In the interview moderated by our students Elif and Nesibe Betül, answers were sought to the questions "What we should learn from Palestine, what can we do for Palestine, does the boycott work?". Merve Gülcemal's sharing and energy in the presentation, to which Nesibe Betül also contributed in sign language interpretation, showed us once again that the wound of Palestine in our hearts has not healed and will not heal until the genocide in the region ends. Our students had the opportunity to discuss how they can support this issue, even if it feels like a small contribution, in addition to gaining sensitivity to the Palestinian issue.
