Our grade 1 students visited the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Poetry Museum within the scope of the “Where We Are in Time and Place” unit. Upon learning about the life of the National Anthem poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy and his work, they learned about his statesmanship, intellectual personality, and poetry.
This museum visit helped students understand our historical and cultural heritage, adopt our national values, strengthen their national identity, and enrich and improve their learning experiences.
