THE FAMILY ACADEMY HOSTED MAHMUD EROL KILIÇ ON “RAMADAN FROM A SUFI PERSPECTIVE”
NUN FAMILY ACADEMY

The Family Academy, which we have organized for our data as NUN Schools, continues unabated throughout the month of Ramadan. Our guest this week was Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, who is known for his deep studies in the field of Sufism.
Kılıç shared valuable notes from his vast knowledge and experience with our parents in his speech titled “Ramadan from a Sufi Perspective”. Explaining Ramadan from a mystical point of view, Kılıç emphasized the importance of the Night of Decree and said, "There is a degree in everything that is created. The Creator has made certain times and places superior to others. The last ten days of Ramadan include the Night of Decree, which is referred to as “better than thousand months” in the Quran."
Expressing that the eid that comes after Ramadan is a reward, Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç said, “Ramadan is more individual, Eid is more social. First you go up, then you go down. If Ramadan is the month of rise, its descent will be with the Eid.”
Talking about the importance of fasting in his speech, Kılıç said, "Allah says, 'Fasting is for me, I will give its reward.’ Fasting is the strongest thing that binds the feet of Satan among all worships. It is very important to leave it hungry and without food in the fight against the nafs. In medicine, they cut a cancerous cell from sugar because it feeds on sugar. Fasting is, in a way, an important opportunity for us to take control of our own demons.”
We would like to thank our guest, who answered the questions of our parents, for his participation.
