Acceptance of the National Anthem and Commemoration of Mehmet Akif Ersoy
The 103rd anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem, an epic story of hope, unity, courage, and perseverance that inscribes the common feelings of the Turkish nation in the hearts was celebrated with honor. At the memorial ceremony for poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy organized by the Middle School Turkish Language Department, his great legacy was relived in the hearts. Each line from Akif's pen has passed into our history as the most powerful words of hope and resilience and the common feeling of the Ummah in our hearts.
A theater play was staged by our students. They enthusiastically portrayed the Turkish National War of Independence through the play named İstiklal (Independence). The audience had the opportunity to observe under which conditions our anthem was written, and the poet’s struggle filled with national consciousness.
On this occasion, the 103rd anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem, the symbol of the independence struggle of the Turkish nation. We once again gratefully commemorate the anniversary and the great poet of Turkish literature Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
