We held the second of the monthly Islamic History Readings program with Assoc. Prof. Nihal Şahin Utku of Marmara University.
Ignorance, a concept that emerged in the Islamic period, has been used both in the Quran and hadiths to distinguish the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of the Arabs before Islam from those in the Islamic period. Therefore, the pre-Islamic period of the Arabs is often called the "Ignorance" or "the Age of Ignorance". In the program, which was held last month with the title of an overview of the pre-Islamic world history, Nihal Şahin Utku discussed the subject of "Understanding the Arabian Peninsula and the People of Ignorance" and shared her deep knowledge and experience with our parents. At the end of the session, our parents expressed their thoughts on the subject and asked questions to Nihal Şahin Utku.
