Prof. Dr. İhsan Fazlıoğlu with young people

At the end of every unit we taught we, as NUN Schools, are trying our best to invite acadenicians. After we finished the units "The Scope of Worships" and "Worship and Social Integration" with our preparatory classes, we hosted Prof. Dr. İhsan Fazlıoğlu, Head of the Philosophy Department and Dean of the Faculty of Literature in Medeniyet University, on March 8, 2016 Wednesday in our school.
Encolouring his speech titled "Science is the Worship of the Mind" with the memories of the important figures that left mark in the history, Fazlıoğlu dwelt mostly on the concept of worship. Defining the worship as "it is creature's serving the purpose to which it was created", the academician said that everything existing in the universe is in fact in the condition of worship, and added "For this reason, everything in the universe is in fact a servant. However they do not have willpower in their worships, only humans have willpower. It is because the distinctive feature of humans from other creatures is that they have intellect."
Later on his speech, he expressed the importance of intellect and willpower as "Lord is anybody to whom the humans entrust their intellect. Humans gain their humanity with their intellect." He finished his words by drawing attention to the fact that being involved in science is a life style and it cannot be done with the public officer logic of 8-hour work.
