September Guest of NUN Meetings was Dr. Halit Yerebakan
Known for his successful heart transplants, Dr. Halit Yerebakan met with our middle school and high school students today.
Dr. Halit Yerebakan was the September guest of NUN Meetings, in which experts in their field share their experiences with our students. Lasting for around one and half hour, the presentation raised awareness in our students for many topics from obesity to high blood pressure, from osteolysis to harmful effects of cigarette. Starting his speech with his period of university preferences and the story of how he chose the department of medicine, Yerebakan managed to make our students establish a bond with him. Young students, listening the entire presentation with interest, did not hesitate to ask what they wondered about.
Yerebakan's recommendations like "Make it easier to do the right for doing the right" became valuable advices which the students think about it and use not only in the field of health, but also in all stages of their life. Strongly underlining the fact that the life quality of people is determined by their own preferences, the doctor said "Share all the useful information you learned about health with your mother, father and everyone in your surroundings. Tell it to everyone! You, young people you will be health envoys in the society." and he finished his speech by laying an important responsibility to our students with this remark.
