Andalusıa Trıp
We organize exploratory trips what we call Sefer-i NUN for our high school students in which we get to know the Islamic world's history better by understanding the historical places and symbols from the past to the present and consolidate this acquaintance with our own inner world. Our third route was Andalusia, which has been of great importance for many societies throughout history.
Andalusia is a city that has transformed the knowledge and wisdom it received from the Eastern Islamic world into modesty, elegance and refinement, and has woven its own original style, the “Andalusian Style”, into art and architecture and sociocultural fabric. Andalusia is a climate and a place where Pagan, Arab, Berber, Visigoth, Jew and Christian, in short, people of all languages, colors, races and identities find a place for themselves under Islam.
Our program started with a flight from Istanbul Airport to Màlaga and continued with Granada after the Màlaga city tour. Our trip flourished with Alhambra Palace, Albaicin, Granada city tour, Cordoba Mosque and city tour, Alcàzar Palace visit, and Seville city tours. We are aware that our students need to learn and listen to developments in art, culture, history, philosophy, sociology and science in Islamic geography. Our students had a very exciting and happy trip. We have seen once again that Islamic geography has brought an era of enlightenment to the world.
We remembered the following lines Muhammad Iqbal wrote after praying at the Cordoba Mosque: "Your beauty, your majesty, Personify the graces of the man of faith. You are beautiful and majestic. He, too, is beautiful and majestic." Our students also discovered deep meanings with inspiration and insight through this journey.
