Democracy and Freedom Island Trip

The coup of May 27, 1960, represents a dark period that left deep traces in Turkish political life. To understand the deeper meaning of the event from a historical perspective, we organized the 3rd traditional "Democracy and Freedom Island Trip" with our 11th grade students. With this visit, students not only gained a deep understanding of the struggle for democracy and the concept of freedom but also were able to establish cause-effect relationships on historical events, thus enabling them to move away from the mentality of merely memorizing.
In addition, by emphasizing the importance of the concepts of democracy and freedom, the responsibility of students to protect and protect these values was reinforced.
