Beykoz Glass and Crystal Museum Compost Yard Trip
Our 8th grade students visited the Directorate of National Palaces Compost Production Center within the scope of the substance cycles unit. By experiencing compost making, our students discovered how decomposing bacteria and fungi maintain a balance within the natural cycle. This visit helped our students to see the functioning of natural cycles more closely and to learn about environmental processes and gain experience.
Our students also took the chance to practice producing compost in the center, our students understood the importance of biological diversity and learned how environmental sustainability is ensured. In addition, by observing the recycling process of waste to nature, they gained environmental sensitivity and developed a sense of responsibility.
