ATL Workshop

Approaches to learning (ATL) are based on the belief that learning how to learn is fundamental for a student's education. On the other hand, IB approaches to learning are arguably the most important thing to acquire, not only in inquiry units, but also in any learning and teaching that will occur both in the classroom and in life outside of school. The five connected categories of skills and related subskills support students of all ages to become self-regulated learners. These five categories and their related subskills cover what a 21st century learner needs. In this dynamic and rapidly changing world, we held the 2nd of our ATL workshops, which we planned because we need people who are knowledgeable as well as critical thinkers and problem solvers. The subject of this workshop was social skills. Through the workshop, where discussion, critical processes, collaborative activities, alternative perspectives, organizational skills, research skills, and self-management and affective skills were discussed, teachers shared their plans for opportunities for the development of learning approaches both inside and outside the inquiry program.
