Kindergarten Students Encounter Nature at Beykoz Campus
Kindergarten Students Encounter Nature at Beykoz Campus
Kindergarten students will encounter nature at Beykoz Campus during this academic year. Our students will be able to witness different species of trees and the importance of insects for nature.
As children get to know their environment, they develop different concepts in their minds. Nature activities prepared within the scope of ecology education can be defined as the activities that help children to observe, research and get acquainted with their environment and nature, clarify their thoughts and ask questions by taking advantage of their natural curiosity. In addition, children gain social values such as cooperation, helping, sharing and taking responsibility within the group. For this reason, once a week this year, our nursery students come together with science, nature, art and sports at Beykoz Campus.
As the space occupied by technology increased in our lives, our children became dependent on computer and mobile phone screens. The education that is intertwined with nature helps our children to know nature and mental development while isolating our students from technology. Kindergarten students develop their thinking skills, social skills, etiquette, fine and gross motor skills, motivation and empathy as they become familiar with nature. We aim to help the students to get to know their environment and nature closely, to gain caring and awareness, to use their observation and research skills, to ask questions and to produce solutions.
Students are able to use their energies positively because they find a large movement environment in the forest. They are experiencing the practice of living together with other living things in nature. Children gain sensitivity with social skills such as caring, cooperation, sharing and taking responsibility in nature. As we move away from the city life, stress-related learning problems disappear.
In the nature school, which we will implement for our kindergarten students, our students will have the opportunity to observe the place in the life cycle of trees, the balance in nature and the importance of insects for the soil and observe the information contained in the books on nature. Every Wednesday, our students will start the day with a swimming lesson in Beykoz Campus and will meet with art and music in nature, make scientific discoveries and researches in our green areas which have a unique beauty, and will witness the miracle of the creation of nature by touching the soil in our cultivation areas and greenhouses.
