Environment Week Activities June 5 - 11

NÛN Middle School's 6th grade students celebrated the World Environment Week, through an educational field trip to the Beykoz Glass and Crystal Museum, a National Palace complex, under the guidance of the Science Department. During the visit, students were guided through the creation of compost using a combination of plant waste (grass, leaves, plant residues), cardboard, and animal manure. This practical experience allowed students to witness firsthand the transformation of organic materials into nutrient-rich compost, a valuable soil amendment that promotes plant growth and soil health. The primary objective of this excursion was to immerse students in the hands-on process of compost preparation to understand the recycling processes both in the world and producing industry.
