University Preparation

At NÛN Schools, we implement a variety of programs to help students make informed and on-target decisions about their future, recognizing that choosing a university involves more than just selecting a department; it is about knowing one’s goal. We start our preparation for higher education in the ninth grade. At NÛN High School, we follow a pre-planned, holistic curriculum that gradually builds throughout the high school years.

We structure this journey around two main pillars: tracking the development of core competencies and providing academic orientation to shape our students' future planning. In grades 9 and 10, we focus on core competency years. During this stage, we closely monitor our students' academic performance while helping them shape their interests and abilities.

We provide each student with academic inventories and assessment tools, which we then evaluate individually. The data we collect gives the student a clear idea regarding their choices for the educational programs starting in the 11th grade—either the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the YKS (Turkish Higher Education Institutions Exam) Program.

At the end of grade 10, our students complete their initial applications for either the IBDP or YKS Program under the guidance of the NÛN Schools Career Center. Following this, we gather with parents and school administration for individual evaluation meetings. We ensure that students who meet the criteria are included in the specific academic program of their choice.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we offer our students the opportunity to make informed choices between national and international paths: International Baccalaureate (IBDP): If students choose the IBDP, we inform them about the upcoming year's expectations and academic criteria.

We offer a tailored lesson package based on the departments they wish to enroll in for higher education, following the meetings held with students and parents. Our Career Center prepares a personal educational package for each student in accordance with their target department, university, and country. We inform, follow, and direct them regarding academic requirements and portfolio content for international universities. We also provide counseling for necessary international exams such as AP, SAT, ACT, IELTS, and TOEFL.

National Path (YKS): For students aiming to excel in national universities in Türkiye, we organize visits and promotion days to introduce various campuses and departments. We provide regular updates and detailed information about the requirements of the fields they wish to pursue.
